Electrik Toothbrushes is an art collective formed in Brighton in 2025 by me and one of my best friends, Maria Awantura. After working closely together throughout our time at university we decided to properly begin collaborating by making this collective, enlisting other fellow artists from our course and beyond to work with us on future projects.

Our main ongoing project is our Eyes and Ears events- (mostly) alt rock music gigs that bring live music together with live art, as we incorporate one of our artists into each set, painting their creative interpretation of the music. This concept began as Maria’s passion project, long before Electrik Toothbrushes was formed, as they organised gigs in Brighton were they could paint the sets in a synasthetic response to the music. As 2025 began we had to fundraise for our university exhibition, and so Maria continued this idea and enlisted more painters, including me, to join.

We continued putting these gigs on through 2025, garnering alot of support from members of the grassroots music scene in Brighton, eventually conjoinging it with our art collective.
